Summer and vibrant colours come to my designs with this new collection.
I wanted to create something fun, colourful and cheerful, with a palette of tones far from the ones I usually use. And the arrival of the sun and the good weather gave me the excuse to do it.
How do I enjoy the summer and the long days? By going to the beach or to the pool, so the designs are full of tropical fruits, beach huts, starfish and whales...
On the other hand, I needed to rescue my character Rita who, like a teenage daughter, was giving me a lot of headaches lately. And the result is super adorable... the Ritas couldn't be cuter. The reconciliation with her has been total.
Although the theme of the beach or pool is summer, its cheerful tones are also suitable for any project for the kids.
And if you like this powerful colour palette, you'll be coming to this school all year round.

NOTA: A veces las telas, aunque nos llegan de fábrica en un único rulo, nos vienen unidas mediante una costura. Es posible que en tus 5 metros vaya alguna vez la tela así. No es corriente, pero puede suceder. Al comprarla por metros asumes esta característica.
Colección Playa o piscina, por Alúa Cid
El verano y los colores vibrantes llegan a mis diseños con esta nueva colección.
Quería crear algo muy divertido, colorido y alegre, con una paleta de tonos alejada de los que uso habitualmente. Y la llegada del sol y el buen tiempo me dio la excusa para hacerlo.
¿Cómo disfruto yo del verano y los días largos? Yendo a la playa o a la piscina, así que los diseños están llenos de frutas tropicales, casetas de playa, estrellas de mar y ballenas...
Por otro lado, necesitaba rescatar a mi personaje Rita que, al igual que una hija adolescente, me estaba dando muchos quebraderos de cabeza últimamente. Y el resultado es súper adorable… las Ritas no pueden ser más lindas. La reconciliación con ella ha sido total.
Aunque el tema de Playa o piscina es el verano, sus alegres tonos te sirven además para cualquier proyecto para los peques.

This is Alúa Cid, founder of RitaRita.
I've always been a super creative person and I've worked a lot with my hands, but I only discovered the world of illustration a few years ago and it has little to do with my studies and my training.
I started a degree in Industrial Design Engineering, but... I soon realised that the industrial side was not for me.
I love getting my hands dirty with paints, and I love the handmade component of my work. That personal touch that illuminates small and pampered productions that contain my soul in every stroke.
I also love to invent. Every month I launch new stationery and scrapbooking products that make writing, planning or crafting tasks easier.
